Ready to move your real estate development goals forward?

SEED Academy equips emerging developers with the practical knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to evaluate opportunities and advance successful projects.

“Attending the SEED Academy while actively working on my own development project was an incredibly eye-opening experience. I especially valued the detailed breakdown of how to analyze a project, understand and read a pro forma, and determine whether a development truly makes financial sense. The relationships and connections I built in the classroom have been just as valuable, and I continue to utilize them today.”

— Tamaki L. Gaskin
Owner & Developer, TCI Properties

Tamaki is currently developing a mixed-use property featuring residential apartments, professional offices, and salon suites.

Building stronger global connections right here in Lansing.

Mayor Andy Schor , the Lansing Economic Development Corporation, and LEAP were pleased to participate in an event hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan, providing an opportunity to present Lansing to representatives from several Japanese companies and highlight why our city is a strong destination for international business and investment.

The conversation showcased Lansing’s strategic location, talented workforce, business-friendly resources, and growing opportunities for companies looking to invest and expand in Michigan.

Japan has a significant economic presence in Michigan, and building relationships like these is an important part of Lansing EDC’s work to attract new investment, support job creation, and strengthen Lansing’s connections to the global economy.

Thank you to the Consul General for bringing business leaders together and providing Lansing the opportunity to share our story. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building new partnerships.

Community input is an important part of shaping the future of our neighborhoods.

This week, the Lansing EDC team joined neighbors at the Allen Neighborhood Farmers Market to connect with the community about the Baker Donora Targeted Redevelopment Initiative.

We appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from residents, businesses, and community members about what they value in the neighborhood, where they see opportunities for improvement, and what they hope to see as redevelopment efforts move forward.

Meaningful redevelopment starts with listening. The feedback gathered through this outreach will help inform strategies to support investment, strengthen neighborhood businesses, address underutilized properties, and build on the assets that already make Baker Donora an important part of Lansing.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share their ideas and perspectives, and to the Allen Neighborhood Farmers Market for welcoming us!
