Lansing Township Firefighters IAFF Local 2258

06/21/2026

Today, we have a crew FULL of dads between the Groesbeck neighborhood fire station the West Lansing station. No amount of compensation, benefits, or thanks can make up the missed birthdays, games, concerts, celebrations, holidays, and, of course, Father's Days, while we're at work.

We are lucky to have some of the best kids out there!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

We have the some of the best members in the IAFF!!

Local 2258 member Mike Kaloz was recognized tonight as the TOP INSTRUCTOR for the 2026 Clinton County Fire Academy. The students tell us he brings a wealth of knowledge their classroom, respect for the fire service, and that we should be lucky to have him. Unfortunately, he could not accept his award or pass his congratulations to his students at the academy's graduation tonight for being on shift AND being busy with calls all around Lansing today. So here is his award and a congratulatory "Thumbs Up" from your much better looking stand-in 👍

There is no downtime as far as we are concerned.

This morning, your Lansing Township firefighter-paramedics wrapped up their second motor vehicle rescue evolution of the week (and its only Monday). Crews remained fully in service while sharpening their skills, ready to drop everything and respond the second a call came in. Big thanks to PADNOS Recycling Center for their time and vehicles so that we may be better prepared.
