The Bridging Generations Together: Financial Futures Seminar on November 22 was a great success! Attendees explored redefining wealth, the spiritual side of finances, and practical tools for financial wellness. 💰✨

A heartfelt thank you to all our attendees, dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and a special shoutout to the Southside YMCA and our community partners for their support in making this event possible!

Federal courts ordered the federal administration to continue paying for SNAP (food stamps) during the government shutdown. IDHS and the State of Illinois are reviewing these orders. SNAP benefits remain on hold by the federal government for November until further notice or order by the courts. Even if the courts order payment, it is uncertain how long it will take for SNAP payments to be made.

Benefits from months prior to November can still be used.

IDHS will keep customers updated on this evolving situation.

Due to the federal appropriations lapse, SNAP benefits may not be issued in November unless the government shutdown ends by tomorrow. This may impact numerous families throughout Chicago.

- Sign up for IDHS text alerts for updates by calling 866-324-5553 or visiting “Manage My Case” at abe.illinois.gov.
