To all my friends who feel the same way I feel about our family and loved one in South Lebanon: our help is needed and I know many are thinking of ways to help. Let’s join efforts to make a bigger impact. Please reach out to me if you would like to work together on a way to help. We have a non profit in place (RAFA) through which we had helped in the past. We can accept tax deductible donations to gather as much help as we can.

For more than two weeks, the Lebanese Christian villages along the border with the Holy Land have experienced a state of anxiety accompanied by massive population displacement.

From the AP “UNICEF Warns Children's Futures at Stake in Lebanon
UNICEF released a report today that warns that Lebanon's economic crisis has left some children hungry and without medical care. Some have been forced to drop out of school to help their families. UNICEF's representative in Lebanon Yukie Mokuo says, "Unless we act now, every child's future in Lebanon is at stake." She added, "The government needs to take swift action to safeguard children's future." This is exactly why we created this organization and why we need your support! Think about all these children that could use your help..

As the holidays get closer, we are counting on everyone's support to be able to help families in rural areas in Lebanon with basic necessities. Did you know that most affordable schools in Lebanon has been closed or are open on a part time basis because of the inability of parents and teachers alike to afford transportation? Did you know that home rents have become so expensive that it costs more than a full month salary of a teacher or a public sector? Did you know that the Lebanese pound has lost so 90% of its value that a public sector whole month salary is equivalent to $60? To add to all that the government has lifted subsidies on medication and food... Lastly, today about 70% of the Lebanese people live under the poverty line.
We strive to help families in rural areas. Will you pitch in to help a family in need? All donations are tax deductibles. Plus many employers have a match program that RAFA can benefit from as well to help more families (Please ask your employer for matching programs that may be available at your workplace)
