Los reportes de abuso sexual contra mujeres y niños por parte del fallecido líder de derechos civiles César Chávez no solo son inaceptables y dolorosos—exigen una rendición de cuentas honesta dentro de nuestra comunidad.

LCLAA se mantiene firme junto a las personas sobrevivientes. Su valentía debe ser correspondida con verdadera rendición de cuentas y justicia. Como movimiento y como comunidad, debemos enfrentar esta verdad, corregir el rumbo y construir un futuro donde el abuso nunca sea tolerado ni silenciado.

El legado del movimiento campesino no pertenece a una sola persona, sino a los miles de trabajadores y trabajadoras cuya valentía, esfuerzo y organización han luchado por condiciones justas y una mejor calidad de vida.

Ningún legado, institución o líder está por encima de la rendición de cuentas. Es nuestra responsabilidad compartida mantener ese principio—hoy y para las futuras generaciones.
