Our Story

In the North Penn region of Montgomery County there was a strong tradition of providing quality healthcare to local residents through the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association (NPVNA), and thousands of individuals and families benefited from the numerous health-related community services provided by the NPVNA. In 2013, when the NPVNA programs merged into the Abington Health system, the VNA Board made a decision to continue supporting the North Penn region through the development of a community foundation which would carry on the mission of the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association and also support the health and wellness needs in the North Penn region. Now the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association mission lives on in the work of the new VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn, with a vision to enhance the health and well-being of residents in local communities. This is accomplished by contributing to those organizations which have the capacity to strengthen individuals and families, with the goal of building stronger and healthier communities for generations to come.
