Thanks to all the Sisters and Brothers ( and some pretty cool kids!!) that came out to help Local 26 at our annual Memorial Service day. We cleaned the Korean War Memorial in the early hours of Sunday morning. You all help show that 26 is an active part of our community and is ALWAYS READY to give back!!!!!

It time to take some action, I know it’s late but we received this today, call and let our senators know that this is something we care about!!!

The partial government shutdown is locking hundreds of thousands of federal workers and contractors out of their jobs and forcing others to work without pay. The Maryland State and DC AFL-CIO stands in solidarity with these impacted workers. Today is a national day of action to demand an end to the shutdown. If the shutdown continues through Friday, workers will miss their second paycheck, forcing them to make unimaginable choices, like whether to pay their rent or purchase life-sustaining medications. End the shutdown!

CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TODAY TO TELL THEM TO OPEN THE GOVERNMENT AND KEEP IT OPEN.
