Are you a parent, an educator, or a religious leader looking for ways to strengthen families and guide the next generation? The Parents’ Guide to Character and Leadership Development in the Home Curriculum is a practical tool that helps parents to teach children values like honesty, respect, compassion, and responsibility from early childhood to young adulthood.

Developed by Global Peace Foundation and Global Peace Women together in consultation with the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRC-K), the guide supports families with simple strategies rooted in culture, faith, and everyday life.

GLOBAL PEACE FOUNDATION KENYA – MADARAKA DAY 2026 MESSAGE

Happy Madaraka Day, Kenya!

As we commemorate 63 years of self-rule, the Global Peace Foundation extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Kenyans on this historic occasion.

reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, and vision of our founding fathers and mothers who championed the cause of self-governance, freedom, and national dignity. Their legacy challenges us to continue building a nation founded on unity, justice, peace, and shared prosperity.

As we celebrate the progress Kenya has made over the past six decades, we are also called to renew our commitment to the values that strengthen our nation: integrity, responsible leadership, social cohesion, active citizenship, and respect for the dignity of every person.

The Global Peace Foundation believes that Kenya’s greatest strength lies in its people. Regardless of our ethnic, religious, political, or social differences, we are bound together by a common destiny and a shared responsibility to build a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive nation for future generations.

As we approach important national milestones and continue our journey of development, let us reject division, violence, corruption, and intolerance. Let us embrace dialogue, mutual respect, innovation, and servant leadership as we work together to realize the full promise of our nation.

On this Madaraka Day, we encourage every Kenyan—especially our young people—to be ambassadors of peace, champions of unity, and builders of a better future.

Together, let us reaffirm that we are One Family Under God, united in our diversity and committed to the progress of our beloved nation.

Happy Madaraka Day 2026!

Imagine growing up without flower markets, foods from around the world, or the freedom to explore even the simplest everyday choices.

One North Korean escapee shared how life was shaped by very limited access to outside culture, variety, and even familiar things many people take for granted, like roses. It is a powerful reminder that freedom is often felt in the small things.

What would life feel like without choice, color, or connection to the world beyond your borders?

Stay tuned as two North Korean escapees continue answering anonymous questions from the UW campus event.

Freedom of conscience, belief, and religion is one of the most essential human rights, and protecting it strengthens peace.

In Kaduna, the Nigeria recently brought together community members from diverse faiths for a capacity-building workshop exploring how respect for belief can build trust, dialogue, and social harmony.

Participants left with a renewed commitment to promote tolerance and understanding in their communities.
