Disabled Veterans National Foundation - DVNF

Disabled Veterans National Foundation - DVNF We provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans across America.

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) was founded in the fall of 2007 by six women veterans and State Women Veterans Coordinators to expand their scope of work within the veteran’s community. Having spent over twenty years focusing on women veterans’ issues, the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan brought forth the rising need to help returning wounded and disabled veterans. This e

xacerbated an already overworked VA hospital and care network that was struggling to keep up with the many surviving veterans of past conflicts and service.

Nashville's Grab n' Go event is a wrap – and we're grateful for every veteran who came out and every person who helped make it happen.

Over 500 Comfort Kits were distributed to veterans in need, along with food, essential resources, and information about additional DVNF programs. But just as important were the conversations, the handshakes, and the reminder that someone cares.

A huge shoutout to our event sponsors, volunteers, and donors. Your support is what keeps us showing up for those who served.

Today, DVNF team members Asia, Helena, and team were on the ground at the Nashville VA Medical Center serving veterans through our Grab N’ Go event.

More than 500 Comfort Kits and lunches were distributed to disabled and at-risk veterans, along with information about additional DVNF Health & Comfort programs and support resources available beyond today’s event.

Every veteran deserves to know they are not alone.

Today, DVNF honors the men and women who never came home.

We pause to remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who still carry their memory.

For those honoring a loved one today, DVNF’s Honor Wall is one way to carry their name forward.

Air Force veteran Kenzie J. sent us this photo after receiving groceries through DVNF’s Veteran Food Assistance Program (VFAP).

At the time, her family was transitioning from active duty to retirement and waiting for their first pension check. In the meantime, Kenzie still had four children to feed.

“The program provides a much-needed lifeline to veterans during challenging times. It gave us peace of mind as we entered this new chapter in our lives.”

Demand for VFAP is so high that applications now close the 5th of each month. Your gift helps keep grocery support available longer for veterans who need it.

Armed Forces Day honors the men and women serving in every branch of the U.S. military.

For many, service becomes part of a lifelong story. DVNF is committed to supporting veterans after service, helping them access food, housing support, essential supplies, and stability when they need it most.

Today, we honor those who serve and remain grateful for all who have worn the uniform.

Chasidy L. - Army Veteran, survivor, and a true example of resilience.

After escaping a domestic violence situation, Chasidy moved 1,500 miles back to her home state with nothing but a suitcase. DVNF's Homeless to Housing (H2H) program stepped in to help her rebuild from scratch.

This Mother’s Day, DVNF honors the mothers who have served, the mothers who have supported loved ones in uniform, and the families shaped by military service.

To every veteran mother and military-connected mom in our community, thank you for your strength, sacrifice, and steady love.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at DVNF.

For one Army mom, support from DVNF’s Veterans Food Assistance Program (VFAP) arrived at exactly the right time.

She shared this photo after receiving groceries and household supplies through VFAP:

“The program was amazing. I was shocked at how much food and household supplies I was given. I was even given pull ups and wipes for my son! Thank you DVNF for helping me through this trying time. I literally had little to no food in my house and now my pantry and fridge are fully stocked. VFAP gave me enough food to last the entire month.”

VFAP helps eligible veterans and their families receive direct grocery deliveries when food is running low and support is urgently needed.

Today is Silver Star Service Banner Day, and the start of Military Appreciation Month.

We’re thinking of the veterans and families we serve, especially those who continue to carry the impact of service through injury, illness, or hardship.

For many, that impact doesn’t end when they come home.
