A youth program under Global Peace Foundation which runs various leadership, and peacebuilding activities that engages a global network of moral and innovative leaders to impact their communities, nations, and the world. Global Peace Foundation believes that youth driven by noble visions can tackle many of the longstanding divisions and crises faced by humanity today with their energy, passion and
ability to dream beyond the current reality. Estimates indicate that young people between 15 and 24 years
of age number 1.21 billion and account for 15.5 per cent of the global
population. Projections suggest that the youth cohort will reach
1.29 billion (15.1 per cent of the world total) by 2030 and almost
1.34 billion (13.8 per cent of the overall population) by 2050 (United
Nations, 2019c) according to the recent 2020 World Youth Report. However, youth of today are faced with many challenges. Poverty, family breakdowns, and social pressures for being unemployed or underemployed leads young people with their idealism as easy targets for extremist groups, and often fall victim to socially destructive behaviors like substance abuse and violence. Global Peace Youth, a program under the Global Peace Foundation is committed to provide opportunities that educate young people to become leaders with both moral and innovative capacity to increase resilience, respect, and empathy towards others. Global Peace Foundation strives to positively impact the world through its peacebuilding initiatives and models one of which is by raising young leaders from all backgrounds of faith, culture, nationality and ethnicity under common principles, values and aspirations, working towards the common goal of peace. Global Peace Youth programs are present in many GPF Chapters across the globe as seen and announced in this page.
