Dear Community,
I have some unexpected news to share with you. The StoreHouse, Maryland’s First Black-Run Food Bank, has been given notice to vacate our current location within the next 14 days.
Due to neighbor complaints, we have been labeled a “nuisance” and are being forced to leave. This came as a shock to us, but we are determined to continue serving you without interruption.
But this is not the end. We are resilient and dedicated to our mission of serving nutrition with love.
Since we started, we have served with integrity and love, ensuring that thousands of families have what they need. Without assistance from the government, grants, or loans, we have carried the responsibility for these families on our back. Now, we need you.
Here’s how you can help:
• Write Letters to Local Officials: Advocate for The StoreHouse by expressing the importance of our services and urging officials to assist in finding a new location for us. Your voice can make a significant impact.
• Share Our Story: Spread the word about our situation on social media and within your networks. Share your personal stories about how The StoreHouse has impacted your life and use the hashtag to connect all our stories together. The more people who know, the greater our chances of finding the help we need.
• Donate: Consider making a financial contribution to support our relocation efforts. Every dollar helps us continue to provide essential services to over 1,600 families each month.

I assure you…. This is not the end.
With love and gratitude,
