Last Friday, BLC teens ventured a bit further out to Lancaster county to check out the Strasburg Railroad Museum! After checking out the real preserved trains indoors and learning about the mechanics, the teens got to ride on a steam locomotive around the picturesque farm country. It was a great day to blend history, STEM, and good company!

Last week, BLC teens had an amazing experience with Spearhead Project Earth who organized a cleanup of Burlington Island. We appreciated the chance to ride a cool pontoon over to the island and volunteer for clean up while hearing about the lore of the islands's storied past. Today for Volunteer Friday, some of the BLC teens went to clean up Slate Hill Cemetery in Yardley with the wonderful folks from the LMT Historical Commission. Our teens had a great time unearthing some of the hidden headstones and footstones there, while learning more about the local history right in our own community.

We are grateful for the chance to help preserve this important historic site. Thank you to the LMT Historical Commission for welcoming us and sharing your knowledge with our group!

Last Friday, BLC held our Great Peep Challenge, to celebrate the arrival of spring! Teams worked together to design and build wildly creative Peeps-themed creations using all kinds of found materials, from flowers and feathers to foil trays and popsicle sticks.

What we love about days like this is that they show so much of what BLC is about: creativity, collaboration, humor, and the freedom to make something uniquely your own. Every group came up with a totally different vision, and it was so much fun seeing each idea come to life.

Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun afternoon at BLC!
