A good time was had by all at the Laneville Cemetery Association annual meeting. Thank you to the 23 people who attended. If you have questions about cemetery plots, please get in touch with me. We hold our meeting on the 4th Saturday of April each year.

Annual Laneville Cemetery Association meeting will be Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Laneville First Baptist Church fellowship hall. We will have a brief business meeting there then adjourn to the cemetery. Please bring your own chair to sit and visit at the cemetery. Those who have loved ones buried here or those who are interested in the cemetery and local history are encouraged to attend. I am very exited to share these pictures of our gazebo. It houses a map of the cemetery to help those who visit to be able to find certain graves. Since we have over 1200 now, it's not as easy as it used to be to locate a loved one's resting place, even when you think you remember. Please bear in mind when you see the map though, that the rows in the old part of the cemetery are not straight even though they appear straight on the spreadsheet grid. The annual cemetery meeting will be April 25, 2026, so plan to come!

We were able to clear off all the branches that got broken in the ice storm. Thanks to James Donald Bryan, Scott and Teena Bradbury, Gene Barron, and Rod Corley for working all morning on Thursday! It was a beautiful day - we got a lot accomplished! These are "after" photos of the same places that I showed the big limbs down. James Donald and Scott even straightened the top pipe in the fence. We have several burn piles, which Paul and James Donald will head up for burning detail.

This is short notice but there is going to be a workday at Laneville Cemetery tomorrow morning, Feb 12, 2026, to clean up some branches that came down in the ice and trim some of the other trees. We plan to start about 10. There will be more opportunities later if you are interested. Call me if you have questions. Rosemary

We will have a work day this Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Laneville Cemetery, 10:00 - 1:00. L&L Lawn Care does a tremendous job mowing for us, but there are other tasks we sometimes tackle. If you would like to learn about cleaning family headstones or just help with doing a little more sprucing up before the Easter Sunrise service on April 20 and Cemetery Association annual meeting on April 26, please join us this weekend. Bring hat, gloves, any tools for jobs you want to tackle. Call Rosemary if you have questions.
