Fredonia Heritage Association From funds raised at Heritage Day, Fredonia Heritage Association helps support such local organizations as Fredonia Fire and Rescue and Fredonia Town Council.

Fredonia Heritage Association (501c(3) is a diversified group of individuals volunteering for a common goal: Preservation of the captivating history of this east Alabama rural community and promotion of its continued existence. A major event is Fredonia Heritage Day each November, when the Association stages a one-day fest of entertainment, food, arts and crafts and a heritage theme on the gro

unds of the historic Fredonia Community House. The Association also sponsors a yearly essay competition based on the heritage theme for students at nearby Five Points School, as well as other events during the year. Volunteers will always find a warm welcome with this organization.

The longtime traditional Fredonia Barbecue is back on Saturday, April 26th! This is the 71st year for the barbecue — held at the Fredonia Community House, located at 6160 Chambers County Road 222, about one city block west of the County Road 267 junction. The homemade Brunswick stew and pit-cooked barbecue will be served 5 to 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Ticket-holders may dine in — all you can eat — or get in a separate line for plates to go.

Tickets are $15 each. On-site parking is free. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are available at several outlets in the Chattahoochee Valley area: Antiques and Uniques and The Powder Keg gun shop, both in Fredonia, Bob Belcher’s Jewelry across from Kroger in Lanett, Ala., from any member of Fredonia Community Club or by calling 334-499-2338.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Fredonia Town Hall & Community House for the forum at 6pm CT tonight! It will be a great time for our community to gather and discuss the issues of concern during the upcoming election.

TUESDAY EVENING, MAY 21, 6pm CENTRAL TIME
AT FREDONIA TOWN HALL AND COMMUNITY CENTER
6160 Co. Rd. 222, 1 block west of Co. Rd. 267, Five Points, AL

One Republican and One Democratic Speaker Will Present
“Primary Issues my Party is Addressing this Electoral Season”

Schedule
6 pm—Refreshments (finger foods) will be provided by the
Sponsoring Organization, The Fredonia Community Club
6:20—Brief welcomes will precede introduction of speakers,
each of whom will have 10 minutes to speak, beginning 6:30
6:50—Citizens invited to ask questions for 5 minutes, responses written on historic school’s 105 year old greenboard
7:00—Each speaker will have 7 minutes to respond
7:15—The forum concludes

FCC members and any others interested will remain for a short business meeting.

Community Club president, Faye Green, says, “We warmly invite people area-wide to come with minds open to hearing and asking questions.” She adds, “The forum will not be a debate but an enlightening and congenial gathering to help everyone understand the most important Party issues. Thanks to all returning to Fredonia or coming for the first time to another convivial gathering in our “Sweet Hometown, Fredonia Alabam. . .where despite our differences, we come together as loving citizens.”
