Our nation’s, region’s and community’s hunger problem (1 in 5 Hoosier children and more than 1 million Hoosiers) is NOT dissipating despite the selfless actions of volunteers and organizations whose tireless efforts cannot stem the ever-growing need of those requiring nutritional assistance.
How can you help? Start a food drive at your church, school or place of employment! Educate those around you of the desperate need of your local food pantries! What are the common needs of community food pantries? Well…
•peanut butter
•jelly
•canned tuna, soups, vegetables and fruit
•cereal
•shelf stable milk
•personal care items (TP, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo)
•pasta
•pasta sauce
Yes, in addition to serving Harrison County residents experiencing food insecurity, the
St. Mary’s Breaking Bread Food Pantry accepts donations whether in the form of non-perishable food, personal care items, or monetary contributions! If you would like to arrange a donation, please send me a direct message. You may also drop off your donations at the pantry (Tuesdays 4-6pm or Saturdays 9:30-11:30am) or at the St. Mary’s Parish office. Or, arrange via direct message for a pick up of your donations!
