Last week, a pastor from Foundations for Nations Church stood before her congregation and disrespected the Northern Arapaho tribes oldest ceremony, Sundance. Over a hundred tribal members protested across Fremont County demanding an apology. She still hasn’t given one. Instead, she’s cast herself as the victim, being persecuted, for being Christian.

This is a clear reminder: the basis of this kind of thinking has never been salvation. It’s submission. Wind River Pride knows this behavior well. A couple years back, over 50 people from a local Catholic college showed up to protest one of our drag shows.

Different target, same script. A ceremony thousands of years old gets called archaic. A drag show gets called indecent. Either way, the message is the same: there’s one correct way to pray, to love, to be, and everyone else needs correcting.

For our non-Native folks, especially white folks: Follow the Northern Arapaho community’s lead on how to support them through this. Protest. Boycott. Divest.

To our Arapaho friends and family: WRP loves you and stands with you.

(Fremont County, WY) – In a meeting that took place on Friday, July 10, a the Wind River Hotel and Casino, members of the Northern Arapaho Business Council (NABC) and Tribal elders met with Sarah and Jason Lucas from Foundations for Nations Ministries, where the duo was told that they and their mi...

We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended our Pride events last month. It was truly special. Whether reuniting with old friends, forging new connections, or demonstrating support for the community, we had it all. Regarding our last event, we acknowledge the confusion surrounding its cancellation or postponement, and we apologize that many attendees missed the drag show due to a last-minute venue change caused by unpredictable weather. We hope to host more drag shows in the Wind River area in the future and look forward to seeing you there. With love, Wind River Pride.
