The Lander Triathlon Club is seeking a race director for the 2017 Sprint Triathlon. This is a paid position. Please see the job description below!

Position description: Race Director - Lander Sprint Triathlon
Job type: Part time, January – September 2017
Reports to: Lander Triathlon Club Board of Directors
Compensation: Base rate plus percentage of race profits; base rate is commensurate with experience

Job objective: The Lander Sprint Triathlon Race Director is responsible for planning, promoting, and executing the 7th annual Sprint Triathlon, held in Lander, Wyoming. Established in 2010, the Lander Sprint Triathlon exists to bring together seasoned athletes as well as newcomers for a fun-filled community event grounded in sport. The LST Race Director balances vision with action, individualism with collaboration, and professionalism with fun.

Specific responsibilities:
- Plan, promote, and execute the 2017 Lander Sprint Triathlon
- Manage a budget of roughly $10,000
- Secure community sponsorships and in-kind donations
- Apply for the Lander Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Development Grant
- Create and distribute marketing materials
- Manage and drive race registration via Active.com
- Work with community members and recruit volunteers for smooth race day ex*****on
- Complete all event follow-up

Applicants should demonstrate:
- Organization and strong attention to detail
- Self-motivation
- Ability to manage a timeline and workload that ebbs and flows from February to September
- Professionalism with all communication to sponsors, volunteers, and athletes
- Experience managing a budget
- Excitement for new challenge
- Ability to move heavy items such as tables, chairs, tents, and transition area materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

BOARD MEMBERS + 2017 RACE DIRECTOR NEEDED!

Hi friends,

The LTC's winter meeting will take place Tuesday, December 6th, at 12:00 PM at the Lander Bake Shop. This meeting is open to all, current LTC members or not.

The Club is actively seeking new board members, as well as a race director for the 2017 Lander Sprint Triathlon. This is a paid position, with a guaranteed base amount plus a percentage of race profits.

Marina is stepping down after three years as race director, and unless we're able to find a new RD in the next couple months, the future of the race is uncertain. We'd like to keep the race in Lander—2017 would be its seventh year—but without an RD it will take a hiatus.

If you are interested in serving as an LTC board member or Sprint Triathlon race director, please join us tomorrow—or, if you're unable to come, simply reply to this email.

Dear sweaty people,

In the immortal words of Jay-Z: "The break's over." It is officially happening: Sunday afternoon pool hours. Noon to 2:00 PM, every Sunday from now until the snow melts (so, June). Current LTC members only.

You can pay your 2016 dues at Gannett Peak Sports, bring them to lap swim, or mail them directly to Marina in unmarked bills (kidding).

260 days till Kona. See you at the pool.
