Dear Fremont County Right to Read Supporters,
Sarah and I wanted to share an update with all of you. After much thought, we have decided to step down from facilitating the Lander Banned Books Club.
We have truly appreciated the opportunity to bring people together through our shared love of reading, our belief in the freedom to read, and our commitment to keeping our libraries welcoming places for everyone. We hope the book club will continue, and we are looking for a few people who would be willing to step into facilitator roles and keep it going. If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out to us. We would love to see this important part of our community continue.
We also want to make one thing very clear: We are not stepping away from Fremont County Right to Read! We will continue our advocacy for the freedom to read and for strong, inclusive public libraries in Fremont County. That includes monitoring Fremont County Library System Board meetings, staying informed about board decisions and policies, and continuing to speak up when necessary to protect access to books and information for everyone in our community.
Fremont County Right to Read has always been about community members coming together to support the freedom to read, ask questions, stay informed, and hold our public institutions accountable. That work remains important to us, and we intend to continue it.
Most importantly, thank you. Your continued support, encouragement, willingness to speak up, and commitment to our libraries have meant so much to us. Whether you have attended a meeting, participated in the book club, shared our posts, worn a "We Support Fremont County's Right to Read" t-shirt, or simply let us know you stand with us, please know that it makes a difference. We could not have come this far without you.
We are grateful to have so many wonderful people standing alongside us, and we look forward to continuing this work together.
