Hunters for the Community is a collaboration between Wyoming Wildlife Federation and Hole Food Rescue.

The goal of this program is to get locally sourced game meat to community members’ tables through donations from hunters.

Game meat is extremely popular at our Food for the Community // Comida de la Comunidad program; it is the only food item rationed per person.

Whole animal processing fees are covered by Hole Food Rescue. Meaning, if you take your animal to Matt’s Meats for processing and choose to donate the whole animal - all processing fees are covered by Hole Food Rescue.

You can also choose to donate part of your harvest.

Hunters and anglers helped build the foundation for wildlife conservation.

Now Wyoming has a chance to build the next chapter: a practical, lasting solution that keeps wildlife abundant, supports science-based management, and carries our sporting heritage forward for the next generation.

WWF and our partners are bringing sportsmen and women, wildlife professionals, landowners, business leaders, conservation partners, and decision-makers together to build a durable, Wyoming-made solution that keeps Wyoming’s wildlife and sporting traditions strong for generations to come.

That conversation comes to Jackson this September.

Join us tonight, Tuesday, September 8, from 5–7 p.m. at the Virginian Saloon for a Wyoming Wildlife Reception.

We hope to connect with people from across Wyoming who are helping shape the next chapter of our state’s conservation legacy, ahead of the Legislature’s Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Committee meeting the following day.

Driven by historically low snowpack and above average temperatures this summer, Seminoe Reservoir has slipped into “near-worst case” water quality modeling scenarios that federal officials are relying on to greenlight a controversial pumped-water storage hydroelectric project there.

The Carbon County reservoir, which stores water in the North Platte River system, measured just 29.4% capacity Wednesday, with a surface water elevation of 6,303 feet above sea level, according to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

That’s 12 feet below a “near-worst case” scenario of 6,315-feet elevation for the reservoir based on modeling of past years that opponents of the storage project have criticized as incomplete and shortsighted in consideration of changing climate in the region…
