Are you worried about falling?

Often a bad fall can change your life and send you to the hospital and/ or nursing home. Attend our meeting on Fall Prevention on Thursday, September 3, at 1 p.m. at the Lander Senior Citizen Center (or via Zoom). Ty Francis from Wind River Physical Therapy will explain reasons for falls and how to prevent them. This will include balance, strength, and vestibular issues such as dizziness that can contribute to falls. This is great news!

Paraquat progress! California is moving to phase out paraquat, a highly toxic herbicide linked to increased risk of Parkinson’s disease, after pesticide manufacturers voluntarily canceled product registrations in the state.

According to the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, the cancellations mean paraquat products will no longer be registered for use in California.

This development is the direct result of renewed regulatory scrutiny in combination with advocacy efforts highlighting the risk paraquat poses to public health, including a strong connection PD.

APDA applauds this progress and will continue to push for more state legislation against paraquat.
