Anti-seizure meds save lives—but many people deal with tough side effects and rising costs. Side effects are a leading reason people stop or change meds, and U.S. spending on these drugs roughly doubled from 2006–2021. Cost barriers also mean some folks skip doses or delay refills. Let’s push for care that’s effective, affordable, and kinder to daily life.
💊 Anti-seizure medicines often come with side effects—research shows roughly 1 in 3 to as many as 6 in 10 people report issues like fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, or mood/thinking changes—and in the U.S. the median cost of these medications nearly doubled from 2006–2021, with high drug costs causing millions to skip doses.

Day 3 of Epilepsy Awareness Month
Chromosome changes can cause epilepsy in children. In Dup15q (extra 15q11–q13), over half of kids have seizures. Early genetic testing can help families get answers and guide care.

FACT: About 1 in 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) each year.

SUDEP refers to the sudden, unexpected death of someone with epilepsy who was otherwise healthy, with no other cause of death found. It most often occurs during or after a seizure—especially generalized tonic-clonic seizures—and usually happens at night.

While the exact cause is unknown, managing seizures, taking medications as prescribed, and maintaining good sleep and safety practices can help lower the risk.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances we have to cancel the 2025 jackpot. This was an incredibly difficult decision, but our current options would not work for producing a quality show. Please accept our sincere apology for the late notice and change in plans. If you have already registered you will receive a complete refund within 3-5 days, depending on your bank. We hope to come back bigger and better next year. Thank you!
