The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA) will be opening the Public Housing Waitlist this Monday, June 15. Here's what you need to know:

The Public Housing waitlist will open Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM and will close Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM. No applications will be accepted after June 17 at 10:00 AM

⚠️ Important: This waitlist is for Public Housing only. It is not for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. If you are looking for Section 8 assistance, please check back for updates on that program separately.

✅ Who Can Apply?
You may be able to apply if your household income falls within the limits set by HUD (the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). Visit the link below to review the income guidelines before you apply.

💻 How Do I Apply?
All applications must be completed online. We no longer accept paper applications.
✅ You can apply from a phone, tablet, or computer.
✅ Once you submit, your spot on the waitlist is based on the date and time we receive it.

⚠️ Please Note: Applying to be on the waitlist is the first step in the process — it does not mean you will be placed in housing right away. Your timeline will depend on unit availability, family size, and household income.

Celebrating Earth Month at LCHA 🌎

Yesterday, volunteers from M&T Bank and the community came together to celebrate Earth Month by planting 10 new trees at Church Street Towers and Farnum Street East. These native trees will provide lasting beauty and shade for our neighbors in Lancaster’s Southeast neighborhood. 🌳

A heartfelt thank you to the hardworking maintenance staff at Lancaster City Housing Authority, our volunteers, and community partners for making yesterday's planting a success! This project was made possible through grant from TreePennsylvania and with the support of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and the Lancaster City Alliance.

✨FSS Friday Feature✨

Lancaster City Housing Authority extends its sincerest thanks to United Way of Lancaster County, PA for their generous donation of swag items, including writing journals, pads, thermoses, pens, and baseball caps, gifted in support of our Family Self-Sufficiency participants. These practical, everyday items will be placed directly in the hands of individuals and families who are working hard to build stable, independent lives. Contributions like this remind our participants that the community is cheering them on every step of the way.

Spring Construction Update at LCHA 🚧

You may have noticed a little extra activity around Church Street Towers this Spring. We're in the middle of a major exterior restoration to improve the building for our residents. Over the last several months, the construction team at Keystruct Construction has been busy at work:

✅Replacing windows
✅Brick Repointing
✅Installing new roofing

A big thanks to our residents for their patience during construction and for welcoming crews into their homes to complete the window updates.
