💜June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

WEAAD raises awareness of the millions of older adults affected by elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. An estimated 1 in 10 older Americans experiences abuse or neglect each year, yet only 1 in 14 cases is ever reported to authorities. Older adults are valued and contributing members of our communities, and abuse or neglect harms not only individuals, but society as a whole. WEAAD serves as an important reminder that we all have a role in promoting elder justice and protecting vulnerable adults. Help us spread awareness by wearing purple today! 🫶
