And that’s a wrap on the 2026 FFA state convention! This morning we got to honor three of our own who received the highest honor the state association can bestow upon an FFA member, the state degree! Congratulations to Rachel, Zenya, and Zoe! While we hate to see you go, we wish you the best!

What a session! Ag Commissioner Shell played the role of DJ to open the session flanked by non other than the Garrard County FFA! Our very own Zenya was also recognized on stage for competing in the Horse Public Speaking event! Congrats Zenya, we’re proud of you for representing our chapter! Tomorrow, we recognize our state degree recipients for one last hoorah!

Day two of the Kentucky FFA Convention is underway, and what better way to get it started than a visit from an alumnus! Kentucky commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell stopped by to say hello and chat with our members! He will be bringing a welcome to the fourth session this evening. We will also be awaiting contest results! As for now, off we go to leadership workshops to bring out the leaders in all of us!

The Garrard County FFA is excited to get this years convention started! And what better way to kick it off than a visit from principal Michael Anderson and incoming superintendent Kalem Grasham! The students got to explore the convention today and hear opening remarks from our state officers! We also got to cheer on Zenya in the Horse public speaking contest! Tomorrow is full of contests, leadership workshops, and more!

FSA is proud to invest in the future of agriculture by offering Youth Loans to help our future farmers and ranchers finance and gain hands-on experience managing an income producing agricultural project.

To apply, you must be 10 to 20 years old and have the support of a project advisor like your 4-H club leader or FFA advisor.

Loan funds can be used to buy livestock, seed, equipment, and supplies or to purchase, rent or repair tools and equipment or pay operating expenses for the project. fsa.usda.gov/resources/loans/youth-loans
