Camp Cadet of Lancaster County is a fun and unique, week long, overnight summer camp for kids between the ages of 11 to 13 yrs & a Lancaster County resident. The goal of Camp Cadet is to introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system while fostering positive relationships with law enforcement personnel. Camp Cadet provides kids with an understanding of law enforcement activities & d
uties while living in an atmosphere similar to the State Police Academy. At Camp Cadet, emphasis is placed on teaching Cadets teamwork, self-esteem, and confidence to make good decisions as well as respect for authority. Camp Cadet is facilitated by Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Troop J Lancaster & York Barracks. Troopers and law enforcement officers from area departments volunteer to serve as camp counselors during the fun filled week. Camp Cadet of Lancaster County is a non-profit organization governed by a civilian board of directors. Camp Cadet is a FREE summer camp for all participants and is funded entirely through corporate and individual donations.
