We are the newest Club in District #7390 and are based on the concept of a "happy hour" meeting. The Club consists of a range of professionals from young to older that wish to make a difference in Lancaster City. What started as a the brainchild of Assistant District Governor Ron Alarie, whom never said no to not having a downtown Club, to a mandate from 2008/2009 Rotary International President D*
*g Kurn Lee, this Club was going to happen. Ron's relentless dream finally came to fruition when a few business persons said yes, along with The Rotary Club of Lancaster's wish to sponsor this Club. Jim's experience in forming new Rotary Clubs was absolutely critical in the formation of this new Club. Jim continues to help the Club move forward with its Rotary Vision and Mission. Without these two gentlemen, we would not be here today. Our Club thanks both Ron and Jim for their vision, energy and guidance. We have recently embarked on a really beneficial new project that is touching the lives of many local families. Quarterly, in support of Tabor Services,we are collecting items to stock gift baskets for new home owners. But not just new home owners, but families that are making the momentous move from homeless to homes. Each quarter we collect specific items needed to maintain and enjoy a home. This past basket included cleaning supplies, such as paper towels, cleansers, mops, sponges, brooms and the like. Next quarter we will be adding home repair items like tools, nuts and bolts, nails, and other repair necessities. This is a really meaninful project that requires little time or effort, but has a huge impact on families making a home. Thank you all for helping, and lets make each quarter's baskets larger, and more numerous. Our Annual Lancaster Road Rally raises funds to assist us in making a difference in downtown Lancaster... We are a relatively new Rotary Club, but we have made a difference in our short existence to improve the downtown area. We have given a sizeable scholarship to a McCaskey senior, provided two years of Christmas gifts to needy children, assisted the LEADS organization in the hanging of downtown Christmas decorations, contribute monthly to the food bank at St. John's Lutheran Church, contributed a significant number of children's books (one for each guest speaker) to the Lancaster Public Library and helped many other local organizations as they request our assistance. We also contribute to Rotary International's drive to end polio in the world and to make the world a more peaceful place. A Great Club to Join or Make-up - Hamilton Club, Lancaster City
