A DAY TO REMEMBER
This week, our Empower Hope Leadership Center team had the incredible privilege of standing side by side with fellow changemakers for a day of meaningful community service, right here in the neighborhood we call home.
But this wasn’t just a clean-up day.
It was a day of planting..planting seeds of hope, healing, and responsibility.
We planted trees, shared meals, and opened our hearts in conversations about justice, restoration, and compassion. Every tree placed in the soil wasn’t just about the environment, it was a prayer for the future. A hope for deeper roots, cleaner air, and generations who will grow up surrounded by care, kindness, and beauty. The day reminded us that small acts done in unity can heal a community.
We’re so grateful for the organizations that joined us, each one bringing something beautiful to the table:
• Glee Hotel – who nourished both body and spirit with food and water
• SHOFCO – lifting up slum communities through education, clean water, and empowerment
• R.Y.S.A (Runda Youth Sports Association)
• Probation Department – reminding us justice can look like restoration
• Cheleta Primary – our neighborhood’s bright future
• Climate Works / Kazi Mtaani
• Friends of Karura
• Green Army – faithful stewards of creation
• Food Banking – bridging the gap between plenty and poverty
• NYS (National Youth Service)
Empower Hope knows that faith without action is empty, so we rolled up our sleeves and planted hope as we walked in love.
And we believe that these simple things can empower hope.
