The Free Store, LLC, gives free clothing and household items to all who come to shop. All items are free all the time for all people. (We do have limits on how much can be taken.) We are located in the lower level of the Maple Street United Methodist Church, corner of Maple and Wheeling, Lancaster. We are open 10 am to 11:30 am Wednesdays and Fridays. rs, and shoppers are welcome! Donations may be brought during the Wednesday and Friday hours. Potential volunteers may stop in during hours for a tour and on-the-job training Mondays or Wednesdays. The Community Kitchen also has a free lunch at noon on Wednesdays and Fridays in the same location. We welcome donations of clothing in season, shoes, hats, coats, etc. for men, women, and children. It must be clean and in good condition. We also accept useful household items such as dishes, pots and pans, small appliances, sheets, towels. We no longer accept books, toys, or decorative items. We cannot accept truck or trailer loads. Bring your items in 6-8 bags or boxes.Thank you.

The Free Store is now open on Wednesdays only, from 10:00-11:30. This is for shopping and donations. We are accepting donations of spring and summer clothing and shoes for men, women, and children, but not dress clothes. We also take sheets, towels, blankets and kitchen items. We no longer take books, tvs, or furniture. The Community Kitchen offers free lunch at noon, Monday-Friday. All are welcome.

The Free Store is now accepting spring and summer casual clothing and shoes for men, women and children. We also welcome practical items for kitchen, bath, bedroom and dining area. We can NOT accept or use entire garage sales or spring closet cleaning with other items such as dress or winter clothes, paintings, tvs, vcr tapes, books, vases. Thanks for your support!

The Free Store is switching to fall and winter clothing. We will gladly accept your contributions of gently used fall and winter clothing for men, women, and children, but please, no more spring or summer
clothes. We also do not accept men’s or women’s suits, men’s sports coats or long-sleeve dress shirts, women’s skirts or dresses. They just don’t get taken. We do also accept useful household items such as towels, plates, blankets.
But we cannot take mouthwash, since it often contains alcohol and could be misused. Please, no opened perfumes or lotions either. And we do not accept toys or books, except Bibles.
Finally, we cannot accept truckloads. We just don’t have the help or the space.
Thank you for your support. Our shoppers are grateful.

The Free Store is gradually switching to fall clothing. We need fall clothing, jackets and coats, towels, sheets, blankets, kitchen and dining items and men’s casual or work clothes! Sleeping bags and backpacks also. Donations accepted Wednesday and Friday mornings 9:30-11:30 at Wheeling St. entrance down the ramp.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! If you might give a couple of hours a month or a week, call Maple Street Church at 740-687-6384. Leave a message for Kaye Russo with your name and number re volunteering at Free Store. We would love to have a church or organization partner with us in this ministry. Leave a message if you’d like to talk about this. We also welcome students doing their community service or seeking experience for résumés or applications.

The Free Store is open Wednesday and Friday mornings, 10:00-11:30 for shopping and, and open to all with no paperwork required. And yes, it’s free.
We do take donations now, starting at 9:30-11:30 Wednesday and Fridays, BUT just clothing, shoes, and household necessities for bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. Also, no more than 6 bags or boxes at a time. We are now accepting winter clothing, and especially men’s! Hats, gloves, mittens, sweatshirts, and socks for winter for all ages are needed, and men’s coats and jeans. Sorry, we cannot accept truck or trailer loads.
A free hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesday and Friday, too. There is hot coffee and light breakfast starting by 9:30, too.
