We were blessed this morning to have Anita Keagy shared with us this morning.

Setting your ❤️ on Seeking God

I Pet. 3:15 "But in your hearts set apart Chrisr as Lord..."

The dictionary defines "set"- to be determined in advance; prepared for action."

1. Pray for the desire (I Pet. 2:2)
2. Make the decision to meet with Him daily. (Joshua 24:15)
3. Decide the place and time (Proverbs 26:14)
4. Allow sufficient time (Mark 1:35)...you need time to get to know God.
5. Have a plan (Josh. 1:8)
6. Keep a daily written record of what God is doing in your life (Jeremiah 30:2)
Journaling brings a sense of intimacy and reality to our relationship with God.
7. Share what you have learned with someone (Philemon 1:6)

Hudson Taylor "An easygoing, non-self-denying life will never be one of power."

Sermon series: The Word in the World
Message: The Mission Really can’t be Stopped (part 2)
Acts 10; Leviticus 11:4-8, 13-20

God has already worked in Peter's heart, gave him vision about the food. That he could eat all the food that were in his dream. He was confused what this vision is about. Then a man showed up. There is an "Aha" moment for Peter. Acts 10:28,29

Acts 10: 34-36...God has no favoritism. God is open to every nation.

Acts 10: 44-48...Cornelius and all his household has an "Aha" moment that the Goodnews is for him and his family too. Cornelius and his household received the salvation and got baptized.

Acts 11:17 "....who was I stand in God's way?"

The Mission really cant be stopped. God extends His embrace. (Matthew 28:28-30)

God reshapes our hearts.
God changes the way we see people.
God reveals His truth to us.
God initiates a request and prepared us to respond.
God gives us His story to tell.

Let's be F.A.T this week! Flexible, Available, Teachable

Sermon Series: “The Word in the World”
Skit / Message: “Meanwhile, back in Damascus”; The Mission Can’t Be Stopped - Acts, chapters 8-12

Galatians 1:11 (Paul's conversion)
1. Rescue/salvation is in Jesus alone. We are redeemed by Jesus' blood not by the law.
2. Through faith we are redeemed and saved.
3. Jesus is the only way and truth to heaven

No one is outside the boundaries of God's love.

Romans 8:35-39 "can anything ever separates us from Christ love..."
NOTHING can separate us from God’s love.

The mission can't be stopped! Keep praying for those who needs God's love.
No matter what comes in the way, God's mission cannot be stopped. God can do anything.

Sermon Series: The Word in the World
Message: "On the Move"
Scripture: Acts 3-7

Words that could describe the early church :
Courage
They (the disciples) lived and acted with courage. Act 5---they went to jail.
The same Peter who denied Jesus 3x, with the power of Holy Spirit, was able to share God's Word powerfully and did miraculous things.

Obstacles and Opposition
They performed miracles (healing sicknesses)...their performances turned into an opposition; They were put into jail. But their jail time turned into an opportunity to share the Gospel. Even with the obstacles and opposition, the Holy Spirit still moving.

Sometimes obstacles and opposition can shake our convictions, tempt us to doubt God's purpose and plan, and to ignore conflict hoping it goes awat.
Act 7, Stephen chose Christ despite of his situation

Trust and Obey---are the words we need to hold on. Trust in God's purposes and plans for our lives. Obey the teachings of Jesus. Trust and obey the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our steps.

Obstacles and opposition are our opportunity for us to trust Jesus and obey His Word.

NEW series: "The Word in the World"
Sermon: "Witnesses"
Scripture: Matthew 5:13-17; Acts 1:8; 2:42-47

There are 2 themes in the book of Acts: power and progress.

The power of the Spirit empowers us to be salt, light and be witnesses to the world.

What do you expect to do when the Holy Spirit is upon us?
change--> grow --> move

When we are changed, we can grow then we will be able to move and be witnesses.

What does the church need to do to grow?
Committed to the Word of God
Shared life
Prayers
Generosity

Sermon series: "The Word Blesses Us"
Message: "Rejoice and Be Glad"
Scripture: Matthew 5: 10-12; Acts 5:41

V.12 "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (NKJV)

What causes a disciple of Jesus to rejoice despite of the situation?

It comes with a perspective.
We see and experience a different reality (1 Pet 4:12-16, 19)
We see and experience a different outcome (James 1:2-4, 12)
We see and experience a different future (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

How can you rejoice and be glad even when you're persecuted?
We keep following, trusting and loving Jesus!
