Nobody likes to move to a new home! Packing up can be very traumatic, but also requires some decision-making. What to keep, what to sell, what to give away, didn't know we had that, when was the last time we used that, where are we going to put it? What do you mean the elevator isn't working?!!! After the Installation, Valley Secretary Steve Henry gave the Past Thrice Potent Master's Jewel to Lady Dee Pappas, to pin on her husband, Greg. Dee was a tremendous support to Greg and to the Valley during the year, organizing social time for the ladies during our meetings, and spear-heading a purse-prize fundraising event for the Children's Dyslexia Center of Lancaster. Thank you Greg, and thank you Dee, for your service to the Valley!

The Scottish Rite Officer Installation uniquely includes the ancient practice of annointing a leader with oil placed to the forehead with a small trowel. Symbolic of the annointing of King Solomon, it is a solemn reminder to the Thrice Potent Master of his responsibility to be a benevolent caretaker of his Valley and his members.

At the May Stated Meeting TPM Greg Pappas, 33' presented a 65-Year Service Award to Robert E. Breuninger, 32', age 96, who joined the Valley on April 1, 1961! He also presented a 50-Year Award to Glenn Ebersole, 32' and a 25-Year Award to Bruce Jackson, 33'.

The May Stated Meeting had some interesting challenges. Due to the malfunctioning elevator, we had to have dinner and the meeting and the Installation all in the Banquet Room. So, we did! With our Ladies present. The secret is out! They now know what our routine business meeting (without the opening and closing ritual) is like. Brief, efficient and painless, thanks to a TPM and Secretary who knew what they were doing. Chris Gibson was presented his Passport Completion Certificate (finally!) and Steve Henry was presented with his Pathfinder Award.
