Special Thanks to everyone who made our fundraising food trailer successful this year at the Manheim Farm Show.
We thank the volunteers from the LANCASTER SCIENCE FACTORY, LANCASTER COUNTY FOOD HUB, BENCH MARK PROGRAM, GIGI'S PLAYHOUSE, GRAYSTONE RIDGE ALPACAS and SMITH'S CANDIES at ROOT'S COUNTRY MARKET and numerous family and friends. Without volunteers to man the food trailer, this fundraiser would be in jeopardy.

This year the food trailer raised several thousand dollars for Abby's Foundation's annual grants program. Visit the website for more information about the grant process that reopens each fall. www.abbysfoundation.org

If you are able to donate four hours to this FUNDRAISING EVENT next year, please contact us here, or via our website and email [email protected]

Thank you, again.

The planned purpose of the Memorial Foundation is to provide annual funds to Lancaster County non-profit organizations whose specific projects or overall goals emphasize helping children and children's issues.

Could you help us?

Abby's Foundation is setting up an important annual fundraiser, and we need some assistance.

October 9-13 is the Manheim Farm Show, and Abby's Foundation has a food trailer that will be open for that week. We are looking for volunteers to work 4-hour shifts (1pm-5pm or 5pm-9pm) each day, manning the cash register or lemonade station.

Call or text Tom at (717) 468-2556.

GIGI'S PLAYHOUSE - LANCASTER was recently presented with a grant from Abby's Foundation to help with the expansion of their programs. Emily Longenecker, Abby's Foundation's Selection Committee Co-Chair presented $2,000 to Gigi's Playhouse representatives Christine Hewitt, Site Coordinator, and Kevin Hewitt, Board Member, at their Oregon Pike location. Gigi's Playhouse is a Down Syndrome Achievement Center serving over 350 families in Lancaster County and will be moving into a larger facility by Spring 2024 adjacent to their current location. GiGi's Playhouse-Lancaster programs are supported only by public donations and their services are offered free to their client's families.

To non profit organizations: Root's Country Market & Auction has a small space open in the market's main building where you may set up Tuesdays to promote your organization. The rent is $25 for Tuesday and the market is open from morning through 9 p.m.. There is no long term agreement. In fact you will only be able to reserve this spot a maximum of several Tuesdays a year. In a row or spread out over the months.
This space could expose your organization to several thousand people. Register for your choice of dates by calling the office at 717.898.7811

This week, members of Abby's Foundation Board attended the opening of Excentia Human Services' Children's Center in East Petersburg.

Excentia is one of our 2022 grant recipients. The donation funded Abby's Play Area in the rear of the Children's Center. This area will serve the various children's programs and is built to address the ongoing needs of their clients.

Will you help? We need a cashier and a couple more people "young at heart" to help at our fundraiser.

Abby's Foundation will be operating a food stand at the Manheim Farm Show again this year. The farm show runs October 3-7, 2022. We are looking for help inside the food stand in the afternoon and evening each day - Monday 10/3 through Friday 10/7.

Proceeds from the food shed help fund the annual grants we provide to Lancaster County non-profit organizations' projects that benefit children. Since 1998, Abby's Foundation has provided over $360,000 to fund 198 projects at 94 different organizations. All of the projects were chosen by a Selection Committee made up of young people aged 10 to 26.

We'd really appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Tom 717.468.2556

We are looking for help in a food stand on Tuesdays at Root's Country Market. The food stand helps to raise money for Abby's Foundation annually in October at the Manheim Farm Show and now every Tuesday at Root's. We are looking for additional help to join our team. Hours can be flexible. There is a morning, lunch, afternoon and dinner shift serving up several types of lemonades and wraps. No experience necessary. Just a desire to be part of something. Join our team.
Thank you.

The 2022 grant recipients include Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center, Lancaster Education Foundation, Lancaster Public Library, Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, Parish Resource Center, Hettie's Hope Chest and Excentia Human Services.
2022 represents the 25th year Abby's Foundation has funded local projects for children. Milestones since 1998 include $400,000+ in grants for 200+ projects at 100+ organizations in Lancaster County.

02/19/2022

Abby's Foundation Board has decided that we must cancel the 2022 Family Skate held at the Lancaster Ice Rink in March. We want to provide this free-to-the public event when it's safe for everyone to come out and enjoy without the complexities of dealing with Covid restrictions.
Our grant making process continues without interruption. This is our 25th year of providing funds for local non profit organizations so we will be granting more than the average $25000. Details of these grants will be made public soon.
