To all our Facebook friends:
We are extremely broken hearted to announce that Collison Festival of Lights will no longer be lighting up the skies during the Christmas season. We, after careful thought, decided to sell our home that we designed and built with the help of our children and friends. We needed to downsize and simplify our lives. Our home has now been sold. The new owner’s will not be continuing the tradition that we have grown to love.
We want to thank everyone who has ever volunteered in any way with Collison Festival of Lights. We have made some very good friends over the 19 years. Special thanks to, our daughter, Carrie Ayers, our son, James Collison and friends, Steve, Julie & Haley Mock which each year have went above & beyond helping set up & run the light displays. People did not realize that it was a 4-5-month endeavor. We would start at the beginning of September and finished in January/February with the tearing down & packing away.
Our light displays are now owned by Keller Farms. They are partnering with the Fairfield County Fairgrounds to begin a new Christmas tradition for all of you. Due to the time factor, they will start out with what time will allow. Each year more will be added in. As the details are finalized, an announcement will be made with the dates their show will be glowing at the fairgrounds. Please support them. They are taking on a project that has been a huge part of our lives.
We have sincerely enjoyed reading all your kind remarks on Facebook and your stories of how we were part of your Christmas tradition. You were just as much a part of our Christmas tradition as we were of yours.
With tears in our eyes……We wish all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
From,
“Santa’s House”
Luke & Peggy Collison
