A message from our Chairwoman and President: Aubray McPherson
Letter to the Editor:
The Antelope Valley Fairgrounds has not held 22 years of the 4.0 Student Celebration for 4.0 Students within the Antelope Valley!!!!
For every year that the AV TIMES continues to mislead the public in allowing false reports and records to be publicly displayed will result in my response to each of these false narratives in your publications!
Shame on the AV TIMES and all other publications who allow an UNTRUE NARRATIVE TO EXIST for the SAKE OF BACKDOOR DEALS WITH THE AV FAIRGROUNDS and other LANCASTER MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATIONS.
It is fraudulent information on every level and for every year that the AV TIMES continues to mislead the public it will result in myself, the CHAIRWOMAN and PRESIDENT of the TRUE AND RIGHTFUL HOLDER OF the ANTELOPE VALLEY STUDENT RECOGNITION PROGRAM and its historical event known in previous years as ANTELOPE VALLLEY 4.0 STUDENT RECOGNITION DINNER, to demand TRUTH IN PUBLICATION!
For over 20+ years, OUR ORGANIZATION serviced the students within the Antelope Valley for their academic achievements. Though we have taken some much time to regroup due to COVID and other national events.
We do look forward to restarting the program in the upcoming years!!
Shame on the AV Fairground for running monopoly systems and attempting to manipulate public perception to try to take something that never belong to them.
Maybe, if the AV Times reviewed their own records they'd report the TRUTH rather than continue to run these manipulative pieces, all for the sake of the AV FAIRGROUNDS to attempt to lie and manipulate their narraitve.
Ask them if we had a contract!
DO YOUR OWN INVESTIGATION!
Ask them where my organization's funds were going and why my organization left!!!
SHAME ON YOU AV TIMES!!
SHAME ON YOU!!
For those reading my response, here is a history lesson just for you:
The Antelope Valley 4.0 Student Recognition Dinner was started by my father James B Jackson.
I took over the organization in 2009.
Our first few events were originally hosted at the Essex Center (which no longer exists). We bounced around a few locations finally settling on the AV Fairground to host our event!
Originally, conducted in partnership with the Antelope Valley Athletic Club, we later transitioned to allowing the AV Friends of Fair, the fairs "nonprofit entity" to host most responsibilities, while always identifying that every year our event would be provided with a ledger of what we brought in, what was spent, and what was left for our organization to utilize and/or would be available to us should we have ever decided to leave. This was our verbal agreement and understanding as was with many other organizations who worked with these entities!!
Shame on all of us though for allowing that to happen and shame on the FAIRGROUNDS for misrepresenting their intent, mismanaging, and most of all misappropriating our funds and other organizational funds into what was later found to be identified by their own staff members as a "slush fund" account.
Which is why we left!!! At best the AV Friends of Fair should be reviewed for having their nonprofit revoked by the Federal and/or State Government
BUT MOST OF ALL, SHAME ON THE AV TIMES for not doing their due diligence in regards to investigating or reporting the TRUTH to the public regarding these matters!
For every year the AV TIMES refuses to report the truth, I will be sure to correct the narrative for them.
As for all readers, learn from my organization's mistake and do not allow these BIG BROTHER ORGANIZATIONS to push you around. SPEAK UP AND SPEAK OUT- because we need more people who are willing to push back and demand better representation from those who are using OUR TAX DOLLARS to fund their projects!!!
