The wetlands have really started to pop with color! Blue vervain (Verbena hastata) and swamp rose (Rosa palustris) have made an appearance! 🌸

🌾 Summer Field Season is Officially Here! ☀️
The boots are muddy, the GPS units are charged, and our field biologists are officially headed out into the swamps. 🥾
Before the summer heat fully kicks in, our team is busy establishing permanent monitoring plots across our wetland restoration sites. We use these plots to track long-term data on native plant establishment and overall habitat health.

Plot twist: it’s not a frog! While we love our usual amphibian friends, we couldn't resist sharing this little guy for a special fauna Friday. A sharp eye from Williams Forestry & Associates spotted them taking a cozy break in the perfect shady spot. 🦌
