Every weekend, more than 900 students across 10 Fairfield County schools rely on United Way’s Full Plate Club to have enough food to return to school ready to learn.

We’re inviting local businesses and organizations to make a direct impact by sponsoring a month of the program through the donation of approximately 1,000 reusable bags used to pack and distribute weekend meals.

Your support helps ensure every child receives the food they need—and the dignity of a reliable, consistent program that keeps them nourished outside the classroom.

Join us as we come together to remember, support, and inspire hope. This free community event will be held on August 27th at Zane Square in Downtown Lancaster from 6:30-7:30pm.

Our annual Overdose Awareness Event is an opportunity to honor lost lives from overdose, celebrate recovery, connect with local resources, and recognize the incredible peers making a difference in our community. The evening will include guest speakers, music, free resources, and a memorial walk to end the evening.

What does it mean to be ALICE in Fairfield County?

Join United Way of Fairfield County for **The Missing Middle: Hidden in Plain Sight** — a powerful, full-day conference focused on the realities facing ALICE households and individuals experiencing poverty in our community.

ALICE—Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—represents hardworking neighbors who often earn too much to qualify for assistance, yet still struggle to afford basic necessities.

Through presentations, hands-on simulations, and discussion with community and professional leaders, attendees will explore:

• The hidden realities and daily challenges facing ALICE households
• How poverty affects housing, transportation, healthcare, education, employment, and family stability
• Ways to reduce barriers and create pathways to opportunity
• Strategies for building empathy, understanding, and stronger community-based solutions
