The Lancaster chapter of Food Not Bombs is an all volunteer group committed to mutual aid by sharing free food with all members of our community. We organize based on the principle that food is a right, not a privilege, and that food is a way to connect, show care, and take care of each other. The only thing required for a person to eat with us is: to be hungry. While we are still in a pandemic, w
e typically bring contained vegetarian/vegan prepared meals, water, drinks (hot drinks when it's cold) and other donated necessities to Binns Park on Queen Street early Saturday afternoon. Everything we distribute is FREE. Message us directly through facebook to confirm dates and times. We are always looking for donated foodstuffs collected from gardens, local farmer's markets, small local retail outlets, and other organizations and donors. If you have food or other items to donate, message us.We are also always looking for cooks and people to help us share food and organize. If you would like to help a lot or a little in any capacity, DM us through facebook. Food Not Bombs is internationally a message and gesture of peace that also calls into question the contradiction in societies' failure to provide food and shelter to all members while billions are spent on inflicting violence and perpetuating wars.
