NPI appreciated everyone who came out to the September 28-30, interfaith chaplaincy conference at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, IN.

Nazareth Hospital chaplain Christine Farah was one of the keynote presenters. In her presentation she discussed the unique challenges of chaplaincy care during the COVID-19 pandemic and during the stress and trauma of the wars in Gaza and Iran.

Christine shared an operating principle of the spiritual care team: "As the times get more intense, our spiritual care must intensify too.”

The past few days have been very unsettling for our partners in Nazareth. The war of the US and Israel against Iran has ratcheted up fears that expanded hostilities will impact northern Israel. Recently, the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon fired missiles into northern Israel and the Israel Defense Forces responded with attacks on Hezbollah locations.

Please join us and our friends and colleagues in Nazareth in praying for a cessation of hostilities and a sustainable and just peace for the region.

On February 13 NPI received a $1 million grant from an anonymous donor. The funds were designated for the expansion of the Cardiac Unit at Nazareth Hospital . This generous donation will help advance the Hospital's mission of providing quality patient care in Nazareth and the surrounding region.

Recently, a group from NPI journeyed to Nazareth to meet with leadership, several physicians, and staff at Nazareth Hospital. To date, NPI has sent more than $80,000 to Nazareth Hospital for training doctors from the West Bank in advanced specializations to meet the needs of residents of the West Bank.

By the end of this month, we will send an additional $60,000 towards this project. We thank all of our friends and partners for their generosity in meeting this need.
