Just before Thanksgiving, Lancaster Ambucs presented Arabella with a new Amtryke. Arabella is a 9th grader and was very excited to receive her new Amtryke. For much of the last year, her outdoor activities have been limited. With her new Amtryke, she and her mother are looking forward to changing that! After a few adjustments by Al & Pete, Arabella was off & rolling.

Earlier today Lancaster Ambucs delivered an Amtryke to Samuel, who is being provided therapy by Julie Korenkiewicz.

Samuel was very happy to receive his AmTryke and after a couple adjustments was very excited to begin riding it. After a few rides around the house he was able to demonstrate it to his neighbors. The smiles on his face were priceless & reminded us why we do what we do.

We celebrated our centennial milestone last week in style. Thank you to our members, friends and families who were able to attend and plan such a wonderful event. Thank you to the National AMBUCS contingent who traveled in to join us and present our chapter with an award for our milestone. And to the wonderful therapists at Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development who were able to attend as well.

We had fun taking a trip down memory lane for our chapter over the last 100 years during the program. We were also treated to a live update from the family of a recent recipient of a new AmTryke! In addition we received an amazing House citation from past member, PA State Rep. Keith Greiner.

Here's to the next 100 years as we continue grow our chapter and support the community! Thank you all!

Lancaster Ambucs was pleased to have participated in the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development Annual Rubber Duckie race on Sunday, September 7th. Representing Ambucs in attendance were Kevin, Scott, Pete, & Al. On display for the festival goers were several AmTryke examples. Brochures outlining the history & mission of Ambucs were also distributed.

Lancaster Ambucs participated in Penn State Recfest 2025 on August 23rd. Recfest was held at Spooky Nook Sports & is designed to highlight products & services available to individuals with mobility challenges.

Participating & representing the Ambucs were Pete, Arnie, Bill, Al, Meg & Larry.

The trykes available for display & riding were enjoyed by several of the children participating in the event. The kids had a great time & their families enjoyed seeing them have fun on the Trykes.

Howard, Al, Arnie and Bill were on hand to meet Talia as she arrived with her mom Alicia to present her with a new Amtryke. Talia was all smiles and very pleased with her new Amtryke. Alicia her mom, said that their home is on a quiet street and that Talia will be able to ride there. She might even use the tryke for Trick or Treating. Enjoy the new Amtryke Talia!

Lancaster Ambucs would like to thank Jeff Schmitz & Lancaster Bicycle Club for their generous donation to our Amtryke fund. This donation will be used exclusively for the purchase of AmTrykes in support of our mission of assisting individuals with mobility challenges.

Lancaster Ambucs members Arnie, Mike, & Pete presented a new model Paceline tryke to 8 year old Lyncoln the other day. As you can see in the photos, Lyncoln was very excited to receive his new Tryke! Lincoln loved riding his bike & is looking forward to outings with his grandfather & family. Also participating in the presentation were Lyncoln’s mother Briana & his therapist Liz.

Today Lancaster Ambucs members Howard Livingston, Mike Fry, Arnie Cohen & Pete Wengrenovich presented an Amtryke to Richie at Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development. Joining Richie for the presentation were his Mother Desiree & Therapist Alexa. Richie is a 7 year old benefitting from the various services available at Schreiber. Richie was very excited to receive his Amtryke and very polite in expressing his appreciation. Following the presentation, members Arnie, Mike, & Pete delivered the Tryke to Richie’s home in Quarryville.

Maddy was born with physical challenges that made riding a bike seem impossible, until she received an AmTryke donated by Lancaster PA American Business Club (AMBUCS). The moment she took off pedaling on her own, her world opened up.

On May 12, you can help make that same moment possible for another child by joining the Lancaster AMBUCS Golf Outing where every swing supports the gift of freedom and mobility for kids with special needs. After the round enjoy dinner and hear from Maddy's mom about how receiving an AmTryke changed her life.
