Shout out the Grant County Meats judging team on their trip to the National 4-H Meats Judging Contest at the American Royal. Team members Leah Patterson, Gwen Reidl, Aiden Patterson, Reid Stalzberg with coach Dennis Patterson represented WI well in a tough contest. The team placed 11th overall. Congratulations team! In addition to competing in the meats contest, they had the opportunity to visit two land grant universities, University of Nebraska Lincoln and Kansas State University.
The Wisconsin Youth Livestock Program noted "These opportunities are a result of many years of dedicated practices and engagement to gain knowledge, decision-making, and a whole host of many other important life skills. Youth are supported by their team members and learned a lot about teamwork while being supported by many adults who instruct them. It is one of the best youth adult partnership examples one can share, and we are so grateful to their coaches and parents for their support." Also, a big thank you to Bernie O'Rourke and the WI Youth Livestock Program for all of your hard work with WI 4-H Livestock events - supporting young people throughout the state and beyond.
Thank you to the Andis Foundation and additional donors that support these teams and young people throughout the year.
