District 5300 Assembly was held yesterday! Three of our members participated along with over 100 Rotarians from the district to assemble, receive training, get updates on new Rotary processes, network with fellow clubs, and witness the final youth music finalist and 4-way speech finalist compete for their scholarship prizes. We couldn’t take pictures or record the students, but rest assured they were all so talented, bringing hope to our future with youth and encouraging us to sponsor more students for the next cycle of youth competition awards. Thank you District Governor Gilda Moshir for your leadership, support, and genuine interest in our communities and clubs. Congratulations to Dennis Franklin; we are looking forward to working with you! District Assembly is also the time to recognize clubs for their impact in the community measured by the tactics needed for success under the seven areas of focus. Clubs measure their hours of volunteerism, depth and reach of projects both local and international, the quantity and variety of projects, club operations, and marketing of their clubs promoting Rotary’s public image through membership growth and youth services. Lancaster Sunrise Rotary Club was awarded silver awards in Public Image and Membership, and gold awards in Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, Youth Service. Great job! We certainly walked the talk of this year’s theme “Unite for Good” and we are excited to embrace “Create a Lasting Impact”.
