Thursday Aug27th Club mtg
Primo Cafe. We had the privilege of listening to guest speakers Carlos Cruz and Cristina Pineda local US bank representatives. Carlos already has a very strong presence in the community as a small business banker, what was music to our ears, is how the duo has begun volunteering support to local youth causes and program. Using their financial expertise, the two offer financial training for youth, from managing a checking account, savings to credit building. I think Rotary has just found some excellent judges for our rotary student scholarships programs. Next club mtg Sept 3. Same location and time. Come join us.

When a legacy, founding member who happens to be a PDG and an amazing Rotarian asks for his favorite pie for his birthday, you just start baking that lemon meringue goodness!

About this weeks club meeting Thursday August 20th....Thank you to our Guest speakers, Guillermo Balcazar and Elsa Balcazar, sibling founders of El Conociemento se Comparte. They presented their NGO serving Educators in Peru and Ecuador. Accompanying our Speakers were members of the Rotary Club of Lancaster, who have supported the 'Teachers teaching teachers" missions and shared their amazing stories of the lengths this organization goes through to bring modern American teaching techniques to teachers in all corners of Peru and Ecuador. These are Rotarians, surrounded by people who are model humanitarians.
We were happy to have guest Shanise Hart LaShelle from Three Hart Connection join us.

We meet next week Thursday, August 27 at Primo Cafe, 7:15am hope to see you there and bring a guest.

Rotary of Lancaster Sunrise welcomes the month of August with a Thursday morning Club meeting at Primo Cafe ☕️. In the Rotary world August is Membership and Membership Development month. We introduced a new and improved brochure that takes an interested guest of Rotary to active membership .
Interested in Rotary? As a Rotarian. Our highlight of our meeting was Installing our Club Secretary Shindana Weathers and Director Danci Gutierrez. Both ladies were unable to attend our clubs annual Demotion and installation Celebration last month, but that doesn’t stop us from celebrating and officially installing new leaders and members of our club! Congratulations to you both.

Rotary has been a part of the City of Lancaster’s annual backpack giveaway Event for the last 5 yrs. Today two Antelope Valley clubs, Lancaster Sunrise and Aerospace Valley teamed up to support the community to offer our free bike repair clinic, our mission is getting kids and their families back on their bikes, riding again.
Thanks and cheers ! to all our volunteers who came out despite the 108 temps today, we engaged with the community, we had some fireside chats with the youth Impact group, we raffled 2 Bike to kids that didn’t have a bike, we repaired dozens of bikes , we taught parents and kids how to maintain their bikes and made many families happy that they can ride again !

It was great to be out at Tierra Bonita Park yesterday for the City of Lancaster’s “Cool Summer Nights”. This was a well attended and family fun event for the local community.
Rotary of Lancaster Sunrise hosted our Bicycle Education booth, we are now calling “Wheels of Service”, and a 🔥 Fireside Chat 🔥 to open the conversation of what Rotary is and what we do. We had a great response from the community and City leaders.
It was fantastic to see our Rotarian friends from the Antelope Valley Club join us and jumped right in the action, engaging with the community. Thanks Tina & Sam! Congratulations to young Liam, who won the “Free Bike Raffle”.

This Saturday August 1st, our Lancaster Sunrise in partnership with Rotary Club of Aerospace Valley, will be hosting our Bike Repair Clinic at the City of Lancaster Back Pack Giveaway.

There are still some repair appointment time slots available... sign your kids bikes up today!
