Our mission is to support the recovery of adults living with serious mental illness. The Center is open seven days a week, providing meals, and a program that encourages, empowers, and educates individuals living with serious mental illness while providing basic human needs like shelter and food that contribute to giving life meaning and value. We currently have close to 300 members and serve appr
oximately 40 individuals a day. There are other places in the city to find a meal, there is only one place to go for people to receive integrated services 365 days a year. Our members get a sense of stability from Arch Street that helps them make better decisions and be more productive members of the community. What our members need is a warm and comfortable place they can go to for support, to meet friends, and to share activities. Arch Street Center meets these needs with a comprehensive social rehabilitation program. For our members, Arch Street Center isn't just a place to go, it's a place to belong. Many of Arch Street Center's members experience homelessness. For these members, the Center's laundry facilities, locker room, and shower are essential. We try and meet the special needs of these members with as many services as possible. We have a clothing bank for men and women that also include some household items for when they are able to secure housing. A membership-based center is a healthy, appropriate place for individuals with serious mental health issues. The Center provides an opportunity for members to become part of a community that welcomes them and supports them. Many of our members have lost their family and community connections outside of what is available at Arch Street Center, and that makes our services even more critical to their success in recovery.
