It has been a blessing to have the opportunity to visit several holy sites in France this month (April 2024) such as Lourdes and churches/basilicas associated with our namesake, St. Charles de Foucauld. St. Augustin Church in Paris has an informative exhibit on St. Charles, which includes the confessional of Abbe Huvelin, where Br. Charles experienced his conversion. An original manuscript gives you an idea as to how small and precise St. Charles’ handwriting was. There is even an adoration chapel where the public can pray in front of the Eucharist like St. Charles did (no wooden kneelers). As I was leaving Sacre Coeur Basilica in Paris, I almost missed the stained glass window honoring St. Charles (thank you, Holy Spirit!). It was completed in 1949, which by that time there were several religious orders and laity living the Gospel in the spirit of Charles de Foucauld. - Arlene Moeller, LMFT

I was issued my Marriage and Family Therapy License through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences on 2/15/24. I will continue to volunteer my services without any cost to our clients we serve through Counseling Ministry of Charles de Foucauld (see page). However, now that I am licensed I will be able to become a provider through Medi-Cal and Medicare. This funding stream will assist with our rental of office space. I would like to extend a big thank you to all of my past supervisors, classmates from graduate school, fellow associates/interns from the community agencies I worked at to gain experience hours, as well as family and friends who were supportive along the way. CMCDF is now listed in the WIN What I Need App, which was developed by Our Community LA with the assistance of homeless youth and adults in Los Angeles County. Prospective clients can access the App for free and use it anonymously. In order for our free counseling program to show up, the user must state in their profile that their "neighborhood" is Antelope Valley. This App is useful to both clients and professionals. Resources on the App include shelters, crisis, legal, transit, food, health (counseling is in this category) - even showers! If only this App was around when I was a social worker (if Apps were invented yet LOL!)

Greetings from sizzling Antelope Valley, California! We now have an office in downtown, Lancaster, which is a central location and convenient for our clients. Now that I am retired from government and community agencies, I have more time to volunteer for CMCDF. I am grateful that I am able to spend my retirement in helping those clients who may not readily want to engage with traditional mental health networks. Please pray for our clients. Father,
I abandon myself into your hands;

Whatever you may do, I thank you;

Into your hands I commend my soul;
