What an incredible few days it was at our Fall Retreat! 🏕️ From September 10-12, our students, teachers, staff, and a huge team of parent volunteers gathered at Promised Land Camp in Conestoga, PA for a weekend of connection, fun, and growth.
Students spent the retreat in two kinds of groups. Grade-level groups gave classmates a chance to build close friendships with the peers they see every day. And our "Lighthouse" groups mixed students across grades, giving older students the chance to mentor and pour into younger ones. Both kinds of bonds matter deeply at Anchor.
There was no shortage of fun either, with team-building games like Mission Impossible and the Amazing Race keeping everyone laughing and working together. And of course, there was plenty of great camp food to go around.
None of this happens without an incredible amount of support. Nearly 80 volunteer roles, kitchen help, chaperones, drivers, activity monitors, and more, were filled by Anchor parents who gave their time to make this weekend possible. Along the way, many got to spend time with their own kids' classes, and just as meaningful, they got to know each other. There's something about serving side by side in a camp kitchen or on a late-night chaperone shift that turns fellow parents into real friends. 💙
This retreat is also where we introduced this year's school-wide theme. Stay tuned, because you'll be hearing a lot more about it in the days ahead.
