Did you know? The National Autism Association recognizes that individuals with ASD are often naturally drawn to water — making swim education one of the most important safety skills for families in our community.

That's exactly why we built S.W.A.M. — Swimming With Autism.

S.W.A.M. is a new Adaptive Swim Program at the City Center YMCA of the Roses offering personalized 1:1 and 2:1 swim lessons for children with autism spectrum disorder. Our goal is simple: a fun, inclusive experience where every swimmer feels supported and empowered to succeed.

✅ Small, personalized class sizes
✅ ASD-focused water safety curriculum
✅ Confidence-building environment
✅ Trained, caring instructors

Enrollment is open now — and spots are limited. Reach out to our Aquatics Team today to get your child registered!

Exciting news, families! We're proud to introduce S.W.A.M. — Swimming With Autism, a brand-new Adaptive Swim Program at the City Center YMCA of the Roses!

S.W.A.M. offers personalized, small-group swim lessons (1:1 or 2:1) for children with autism spectrum disorder — built on a curriculum designed to develop water safety skills and build real confidence in and around the water.

Water safety is a critical life skill, and for individuals with ASD, it's especially important. We created S.W.A.M. because every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered — in the pool and beyond.

✅ Small group sizes (1:1 or 2:1)
✅ Purpose-built ASD curriculum
✅ Fun, inclusive, judgment-free environment
✅ Focused on water safety & confidence

Spots are limited — enrollment is now open!

Meet Catherine! As one of Jason's personal training clients, she has worked hard to prioritize her health and fitness, and she's now off on an exciting adventure. She recently shared this thoughtful message with us.

“Thank you again for working with me to develop a series of isometric exercises that I can do while traveling.

We’re currently in the Colorado Rockies doing day hikes, and thanks to your expertise and guidance, I haven’t needed a single “down day” for recovery.

As a result, I’ve been able to fully enjoy every part of this adventure.

Thank you again for making such a meaningful difference in my quality of life. Your help has had a real impact, and I’m very grateful.”

Thank you, Catherine, for your kind words and for allowing us to be part of your journey. We are grateful to help our members live life at their own pace and pursue the experiences that matter most to them.

Last Thursday, Office Caitlyn Stallings visited the YMCA to spend time with the pre-K classes during a special reading activity. As both a dedicated member of the YMCA community and an officer with the Lancaster Police Department, Officer Stallings shared her love of reading while helping children build excitement around books and learning.

The students were excited to welcome Officer Stallings into their classroom as she read stories aloud, answered questions, and talked with the children about the important role police officers play in the community. Her visit created a fun and engaging experience that encouraged literacy, curiosity, and positive community connections.

The YMCA greatly appreciates Officer Stallings for taking the time to visit and make such a meaningful impact on the children. Experiences like these help strengthen relationships between young learners and local community leaders while creating lasting memories for our pre-K students.
