Bewtiching Botanicals

Step into the shadows of the garden and discover plants entwined with Samhain, Halloween, death, and the supernatural. From herbs believed to ward off wandering spirits to wonderfully named plants like ghost pipe, bloodroot, and devil’s claw, explore the strange, beautiful, and sometimes deadly botanicals of the season with herbalist/folklorist, and award-winning author Rissa Miller.

Presenter: Eryn Shrader

The Ungovernable; Pagans as the Tenacious Wild Expression of the Divine.

In this presentation, Eryn will explore the archetype of the wild mage, the hedge rider, the medicine woman at the edge of the village, and how these archetypes have persisted throughout time as an irrepressible force of nature within human communities. What does it mean to be ungovernable in the world today? How can we reclaim our wildness? And why does it matter? Remembering our irrepressible hedge wisdom may be the skill set that protects whole communities in the years to come.

This year at Lancaster Pagan Pride, we’ll be gathering for a free, open community harvest ritual in celebration of Mabon, the second harvest of the year.

It is a season of gratitude, balance, and gathering around a common table, honoring both the gifts we’ve received and those we offer to others.

After the ritual, we invite everyone to stay for a shared community feast. If you’re able, please bring a favorite dish or beverage to share with the community. Whether your contribution is homemade, store bought, or simply your presence, you are welcome here. No dish or donation needed! Our harvest is your harvest. 🫶

We’re beyond excited to celebrate this beautiful season with all of you this September and to spend the day building connection, fellowship, and community with our local pagan kindred.
