September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Here in Lancaster, we believe our community is stronger when we look out for one another. At the YMCA, we’re committed to creating a place where everyone feels welcomed, supported, connected, and like they belong.

Take a moment to check in with a friend, family member, neighbor, or someone who may be struggling. Sometimes, simply listening can make a difference.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988.

Happy National Volleyball Day!

Today we’re celebrating the sport we love and the athletes who bring energy, teamwork, and passion to the court. We’re especially proud that Gregory Family YMCA is home to the USC Lancaster Lancers Girls Volleyball team!

We’re proud to support these student-athletes and the next generation of volleyball players in our community.

Wednesday means Upper Body with Jim!

Last week, the whole class took on elevated push-ups for the first time— and they showed what happens when you keep pushing and keep improving.

Progress doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one rep at a time.

Great work, everyone!

Every 11 seconds, an older adult is seen in an emergency department for a fall-related injury. The National Council on Aging advises seniors to find a good balance and exercise program, like Chair Yoga or Tai Chi, to help build strength, balance, and flexibility and prevent falls. Come check out our classes using our YMCA360 App, or by clicking here! https://schedules.ymcaup.org/

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15 and runs through October 15, allowing us to recognize and celebrate members of our communities and their ancestors who hail from Mexico, parts of the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Spain. At the Gregory Family YMCA, we believe these roots strengthen our entire community while inspiring a brighter future for generations to come!
