Celebrate the Value and Talent of Blind and Visually Impaired Professionals!

As we continue celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), the NIB Blind and Visually Impaired Advisory Council invites you to join us for an engaging conversation highlighting the experiences, achievements, and career journeys of blind and visually impaired professionals across the NIB network.

Join us Wednesday, October 14 at 12:00 p.m. for our NDEAM Employee Webinar and Career Panel, featuring:

Our panelists will share their experiences navigating their careers, pursuing advancement and leadership opportunities, and working to promote accessibility in the workplace. A big thank you to Senator Scott Martin who presented a Senate of Pennsylvania congratulatory citation commending VisionCorps on its 100th anniversary.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), observed each October, is a time to recognize the valuable contributions of workers with disabilities and to promote inclusive workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. NDEAM serves as an important reminder that people with disabilities bring unique talents and skills that strengthen businesses, and communities.

By raising awareness and celebrating achievements,, we help break down barriers, challenge misconceptions, and create a more accessible and inclusive workforce. Celebrating NDEAM not only honors the accomplishments of individuals with disabilities but also encourages employers and communities to continue building environments where all people can thrive and reach their full potential.

Annamarie Parker, our Assistant Director of Professional Services Division is proud to celebrate NDEAM this month. "My career is built on what I bring to the table, not on labels or assumptions. This Disability Employment Awareness Month, I am proud to let my work, contributions, and results define me. Since beginning my career with the CMS program at VisionCorps in 2009, I have focused on turning opportunities into achievements, proving that talent, dedication, and results are what truly matter."

Today is the first day of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

Since 1945, NDEAM has celebrated the impact people with disabilities have on the American workforce.

This year's theme, "Celebrating Value and Talent," honors the skills and contributions of Americans with disabilities, carrying that spirit forward into America's 250th birthday.

At NIB, we see value and talent every day. Join us this October as we celebrate the achievements of people who are blind, low vision or visually impaired, and everything they bring to the workforce.

Our 100th anniversary gala was Friday evening — it was a fun look back to 1926, when our agency started in downtown Lancaster.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of our great pics — VisionCorps celebrating 100 years of serving the community of people who are blind or vision impaired.

Jere Gish - WGAL News 8 was the emcee. President and CEO Megan Tomsheck, Zack Klipa, and George Tobler rallied the crowd to continue to support VisionCorps. Through our silent auction, sponsors, and private donations, we raised $105k!

What a great celebration! Here’s to the next century! 🎉💯🎉
