ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—our hardworking neighbors who earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford basic necessities like housing, child care, food, transportation, and health care. In Fairfield County, 35% of our population—roughly 13,000 individuals—fall within these guidelines.

We’re launching a virtual Split‑the‑Pot fundraiser to support the ALICE families who make our community run — and we need YOUR help to make a difference.

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — our childcare workers, medical assistants, cashiers, home health aides, servers, and so many others who work hard every day but still struggle to afford basic essentials. They earn too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to make ends meet.

These are our neighbors, coworkers, and friends — and together, we can show them they’re not alone.
