Tornado watch

The national weather center has issued a tornado watch in effect for central Pennsylvania until 7 PM this evening.

The national weather service has issued a winter storm watch where the central PA region. Heavy snow is possible from early Sunday morning into Monday morning with accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. Travel will difficult and may impact the Monday morning commute.

Please make extra time to travel to work.

Please be careful while out there driving. Make sure you know your surroundings, specially with water on the roadways.
If you see water on the roadway and it’s deep turn around and don’t drown.

In addition, make sure your residential property that your drains and rain spouts are free of debris. You don’t need to have issues at home with flooding in the basement or leaky roof due to clogged drains or rain spouts.

More severe weather on its way for later this afternoon into the night.

There is also a flash flood warning still in fact.

There are some roadways that are closed due to high water on the road.

Do not enter barricaded road closures due to high water.

If you see large amount of water on a roadway, don’t take a chance and driving through it because you may become stranded and you could possibly drown.

So turn around and don’t drown

Couple things that you could do around your house and property is make sure all your drains and spouts are clean of debris this will
ensure that proper drainage of the water. Remember, poor drainage could cause flooding.

Make sure your drains and spouts are clean because more rain is coming today.

Heavy rainfall will move across southeast Pennsylvania later this evening into the overnight hours, with 1 to 3 inches of rain expected.

Locally heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding, especially southeast of US-30 from Gettysburg eastward.

A Flood Watch is in effect for Adams, York, and Lancaster County from 7PM Friday through 5AM Saturday.

A quick-moving system will bring significant rain to the Lower Susquehanna Valley and a wintry mix of wet snow, sleet and light freezing rain to northern PA. This system will be followed by gusty northwesterly winds this afternoon into tonight, with gusts of 35-45 mph possible across primarily eastern PA.

Weather Advisory

Active weather will continue today through Monday evening.
Lake effect and upslope snow will result in several inches of accumulation today into tonight across NW PA and the Laurel Highlands.
Scattered snow squalls are possible today into this evening, creating brief whiteout conditions and the potential for flash freeze impacts on highways (mainly along and north/west of I-80/I-99 corridor).
Winds will be strong and gusty today through early Monday evening, with the potential for tree damage and power outages.

Weather alert 🚨

FYI - a sign of spring, and that winter is not over just yet.

A strong cold front will track through Central Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening, bringing locally heavy rainfall along with a few thunderstorms. Strong winds will develop behind the front with gusts of 30 to 40 mph expected for all of Central PA and higher gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected for the Laurel Highlands.

FYI- We knew that winter was not over yet despite the recent warm and springlike weather. 🙁

A winter storm is still expected to disrupt travel Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Important changes: Shifted the area of heaviest snow northward, and lowered snow amounts in the south.
