Every child deserves to have someone in their corner.

The Lancaster Law Foundation is proud to support CASA of Lancaster & Lebanon Counties' Preventative Advocacy Program, an initiative providing trained volunteer advocates for children involved in private custody cases.

The program was developed in response to a need identified by Lancaster County judges. In these cases, children may be navigating family instability, conflict, trauma, or previous involvement with Children and Youth Services without having an independent advocate focused solely on their best interests.

Through the Preventative Advocacy Program, CASA volunteers step in early to provide a consistent, child-focused voice, helping promote safety, stability, and well-being while supporting families and the courts in identifying concerns before circumstances escalate.

We're proud to support CASA as it expands this important work for children and families in Lancaster County.

We're celebrating ExtraGive with good company, conversation, and a chance to come together in support of the Lancaster Law Foundation.

Join us at Marion Court Room on Friday, November 20 from 4:30-8:30 PM. Stop by, grab a drink, spend some time with friends and colleagues, and help us celebrate a day dedicated to making a difference in Lancaster County.

The Lancaster Bar Association and Lancaster Law Foundation are opening our doors for a Fall Open House Breakfast, and we'd love to welcome our members, community partners and friends!

Join us on Tuesday, October 20 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at LBA Headquarters for breakfast and an opportunity to learn more about the work of the LBA and LLF.

We'll also celebrate our 2026 LLF Community Grant recipients, introduce you to members of our Boards of Directors, and offer a chance to tour our historic headquarters at 28 East Orange Street.

Whether you already know us well or would simply like to learn more about what we do in the Lancaster community, we hope you'll stop by!

When a family is facing a difficult custody matter, access to an attorney can make an enormous difference.

The Lancaster Law Foundation is proud to support MidPenn Legal Services' Safe at Home - Family Law Attorney project, which provides legal assistance to low-income Lancaster County residents navigating custody and other family law matters.

With requests for custody representation continuing to rise, MidPenn's dedicated Family Law Attorney helps parents facing some of the most serious circumstances, including being denied access to their children, concerns about a child's safety, or custody cases in which the other party has legal representation.

For those who do not require full representation, MidPenn also provides guidance to help individuals understand and pursue custody matters on their own. Together, these services help families navigate the legal system and work toward greater stability.

We're proud to support MidPenn Legal Services and its work to ensure that Lancaster County families have access to legal help when they need it most.

Creating pathways to careers in law.

The Lancaster Law Foundation is proud to introduce the Pathmaker Scholarship Program in Honor of Lydia Hamilton Smith, a new initiative helping Lancaster County students overcome financial barriers to education and experience in the legal field.

Through internship and tuition scholarships, Pathmaker will help students take meaningful steps toward careers in law.

TURNING GENEROSITY INTO ACTION

Since 2020, the Lancaster Law Foundation has invested more than $416,000 in community support, funding programs and initiatives that expand access to justice and strengthen Lancaster County.

Through our Community Grants Program, donor support becomes an investment in organizations working every day to connect people with legal services, advocacy, education, and other critical resources.

It's one of the most important ways LLF extends the impact of Lancaster County's legal community beyond the practice of law and into the community we serve.

GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT: Bench Mark Program

The Lancaster Law Foundation is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with Bench Mark Program through a 2026 Community Grant supporting its Youth Intervention Center Leadership Development Program.

Through weekly, mentor-led sessions at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center, Bench Mark Program will help young people build practical skills in financial literacy, goal setting, communication, conflict resolution, workforce readiness, and decision-making. Participants will have opportunities to practice those skills through interactive lessons and real-world scenarios.

The program also creates an important bridge between young people at YIC and Bench Mark Program's community-based services, providing opportunities for continued mentorship and support after they return to the community.

This is your support at work. Through the Community Grants Program, LLF donors help community partners like Bench Mark Program provide young people with the relationships, skills, and opportunities they need to build stronger futures.

We are proud to continue supporting Bench Mark Program and its work with Lancaster County youth.
